One of the missions of our club is to find homes for cairns in need.  Some of these "rescue" cairns have been found at local animal shelters and some have been given to us by their former owners because they can no longer care for the dog.

A WARNING to prospective buyers of Cairn puppies: our club has been dealing with some very aggressive rescue Cairns recently. These dogs are young, neutered, and were ALL purchased at pet shops. These dogs are not only dog aggressive, they are aggressive to humans also. We do not know if these dogs are coming from the same kennel (puppy mill), or if there is an underlying physical problem. We are recommending that you do NOT purchase a Cairn puppy from any retail outlet. Please go to a responsible breeder, preferably one who is a member of the Cairn Terrier Club of America.
